Bandido has it all and will add genuine value to your growing herd –
the Hemingway blend of incredible fiber
and outstanding conformation. Extraordinarily handsome with chiseled
symmetry, excellent crimp and fabulous density from head to toes.
His micron count was 20.3 at three years and he has continue to
maintain a very fine fleece. Easy to handle, a big, bold
gentleman. His offspring are awesome and he stamps a
significant breed-up on the dam. His dam, Benatton, was
purchased by WestWool Alpacas in 1993, from the first import of
Peruvian alpacas into North America, when she was two years old.
Benatton turned out to be a great producer for WestWool over the
years and as Mike Safely said "she is one of the best producing
females brought into North America." Her early offspring won lots of
ribbons for Northwest Alpacas including the a blue ribbon for
Produce of Dam at 1998 AOBA conference. Bandido is a full brother to
the famous Mister Antonio who was purchased by Magical Farms for
$125,000 for half interest.
Bandido is co-owned with Signe Ostby of Valhalla Farms in
California & Tom & Beth Berger of Suncoast Alpacas in Florida.

alpaca, Bandido.
The alpaca has high fibre
(follicle) density. The primary fibres are fine in diameter. The
secondary fibres are very fine and uniform in diameter and mostly
free of medullation. The follicle groups are closely packed
and contain high numbers of wool follicles.

We took these pictures in 2001 of Peruvian
Hemingway when we went to pick up or girls after they had been
bred. He was covered in spit from the females in the
background!
